Building in public

Why this blog exists — a working log of enterprise AI architecture, client-owned platforms, and the discipline of making AI earn its place in the business.

This is where I think out loud.

Not polished keynote material. Not a sales funnel dressed as thought leadership. A working log — decisions, trade-offs, things that worked, things that did not, and what I would do differently next time.

What you will find here

Enterprise AI architecture — how regulated companies move from scattered use cases to a client-owned Agentic AI platform. Memory, tools, skills, and knowledge retained inside the business, not rented from someone else’s stack.

Tech-to-Value discipline — the economic and delivery logic behind AI programs. What deserves funding now, what should wait, and how to measure whether AI is actually earning its place.

Build logs — honest updates as the practice evolves. Site changes, frameworks, governance patterns, lessons from the field (within NDA boundaries).

Why now

The flagship engagement is complete. The advisory practice is active. I have more to say than fits on a single-page dossier — and I would rather document the work as it happens than retrofit a narrative later.

A letter to the public, written in the kitchen

I am writing a blog. That sounds modern. In truth I sit at a table, a mug of tea gone cold beside me, and the feeling that I am exposing my soul like an open-source repo, only without a README and with a higher chance of typos.

Build in public, say the Americans. Here it would be closer to build out loud so the neighbour knows we are still alive. Neruda wrote feuilletons from Prague streets. I write from velvethy.com, a street without cobblestones, just HTML and good intentions.

I told myself it would not be marketing. Not thought leadership, that trade where ideas are walked on a leash and often forget what they stand on. It would be a work diary. Chronicle of a man trying to convince companies that AI must earn its place in the business, a sentence that sounds grave in an elevator pitch and slightly absurd in a kitchen. Yet true.

I invented blog-forging. The process of turning a thought into a paragraph, a paragraph into a page, a page into accountability. It does not hurt like a tooth. It hurts like conscience. Should I publish already, or read it once more and pretend I am still looking for a better word?

Once a letter was enough. Now a push to main is enough. Cloudflare handles the rest. God knows if Neruda had CI/CD. He at least had an editor who sometimes said not this. I have my own git. Dangerous and liberating.

So here is the first letter. Not a promise. Not a manifesto. Just a below-the-line note on a life where I still believe honesty is cheaper than slide deck artillery. And that if we build in plain sight, let it be useful. Or funny. Ideally both.

I will refill the tea. Then maybe write about alignitis. You will see. That is the whole point of in public.

List na veřejnost, psaný v kuchyni

Píšu blog. To zní moderně. Ve skutečnosti sedím u stolu, vedle mě hrnek s čajem, který už je studený, a pocit, že vystavuji duši jako open-source repozitář, jen bez README a s větší pravděpodobností překlepu.

Build in public, říkají Američané. U nás by to bylo spíš stavět nahlas, ať soused ví, že ještě žijeme. Neruda psal fejetony z pražských ulic. Já píšu z adresy velvethy.com, což je ulice bez dlažby, jen HTML a dobré úmysly.

Řekl jsem si, že to nebude marketing. Že to nebude thought leadership, což je obor, kde se myšlenky vodí na vodítku a často zapomenou, na čem vlastně stojí. Bude to pracovní deník. Kronika člověka, který se snaží přesvědčit firmy, že AI má zasloužit si místo v byznysu, což je věta, která by v elevator pitchi zněla vážně, ale v kuchyni je trochu směšná. A přesto pravdivá.

Vymyslel jsem slovo blogotvorba. Proces, kdy z myšlenky uděláte odstavec, z odstavce stránku, ze stránky odpovědnost. Nebolí to jako zub, spíš jako svědomí. Měl bych to už publikovat, nebo ještě jednou přečíst a předstírat, že hledám lepší slovo?

Kdysi stačilo napsat dopis. Dnes stačí push na main. Cloudflare se postará o zbytek. Bůh ví, jestli Neruda měl CI/CD. Měl aspoň redakci, která mu občas řekla tohle ne. Já mám vlastní git. Nebezpečné i osvobozující.

Tak tady je první list. Ne slib. Ne manifest. Jen poznámka pod čarou k životu, ve kterém stále věřím, že upřímnost je levnější než slidová palba. A že když už něco stavíme na očích všech, ať je to aspoň užitečné. Nebo vtipné. Ideálně obojí.

Jdu zalít čaj. Pak možná napíšu něco o alignitidě. Uvidíte sami. To je právě ono in public.
